Localnoodles published a list of over 200 free wireless hotspots (restaurants, cafes, bars) around Beijing. I’ve been using their site for years and they keep it up date so it’s a great resource. The list is located at: http://www.localnoodles.com/update/20100224/Beijing/Wireless-cafes.html
We had good free wifi with or dinner at Le Cabernet just next to the Novotel in Dong district. Yesterday we were not successful in the same location.
