Panel: Online Word-Of-Mouth Marketing at CNBloggerCon 2008 Guangzhou

From @kenworker: The next topic is a panel regarding online word-of-mouth marketing: @Tangos moderating panel.  Others taking part: @WebLeOn, Grey Chan, Nathan Ma.

We’ve @Tangos on stage hosting the conversation…Intros being given.

GFW-free Internet access being provided in parts of the CNBloggerCon. Unfortunately the mic isn’t doing a great job and those folks are speaking too fast. It’s hard to make too much sense of the speech..

Chaozuo (炒做) is kind of creating buzz in China — it is controversial if used incorrectly.  True word-of-mouth, obviously, should yield better results than chaozuo.

ZSS: About 2 minutes ago, both @Tangos and @WebLeOn did the same post. GMTA!

Next in Area B: Inside Wikipedia: community and culture.

ZSS: Request: What’s crucial in successful word-of-mouth marketing? Thanks @Kaenyth

“Hell to Dell”: seemed to be a major turning point for the company.  There’s a difference between word-of-mouth both pre- and with-Internet. (Can’t say “post-Internet” yet.)  From @Kenyth: Word-of-mouth advertising is just a part of the entire marketing process.

Thank you to all panelists and @Tangos.

Elliott Note: Sorry, the sound system is really bad here.  Hard to hear.

ChaoZuo(炒作) means some people or some groups make series of articles or posts in a certain topic consciously.
