Now that my pseudo-embargo has been lifted, I’m pleased to announce that CNR will be piggybacking joining chinaSMACK’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen movie night, slated for an as-yet undetermined evening between Wednesday, June 24th and Sunday, June 28th in Shanghai.
Sorry for everyone not in Shanghai.
The movie debuts on a Wednesday but I imagine most people are going to prefer going out to the movies without having to wake up early the next day. Either way, if you’re keen on joining a bunch of expats awesome people in going to watch one of the most highly anticipated movies of this summer, it’s best if you head on over to chinaSMACK’s interest-gathering post and vote on which evening you prefer (actually, which evenings you’re able to attend).
Here’s what I know so far:
- The theatre will definitely be a central Shanghai location.
- Don’t worry, movie will be in the original English (with Chinese subtitles).
- There’s very likely to be a nice group discount as long as we have enough people. Fauna’s working on that.

Since the seats will be discounted (plus any other bonuses that can be wrangled) and limited, they will be made on a first-come, first-serve basis.
